WeedDar is an independent price-observation instrument for Monroe County, New York. It records what retail sources actually show, carries evidence quality with every row, and leaves fields blank when the connection cannot be demonstrated.
Verified / Tier A. A first-party retailer product or menu state establishes the exact store/location, product, weight and price with live ordering controls.
Observed / Tier B. A current store-specific indexed menu establishes the store, exact product, weight and price, but current live availability was not directly confirmed.
Conditional. A real offer attached to a condition or unresolved detail: multi-buy, OTD promotion, membership condition, or similar.
Held. Useful evidence with a material hole. Held records never enter the price ladder.
Thrown out. Broken or contaminated evidence: wrong store, wrong PDP, wrong weight, inherited feed, mismatched form, or another failure that makes the row unsafe.
WeedDar will not make a market-wide claim until it has both a trustworthy active-storefront denominator and direct verification at at least half of that denominator.
Signal 007 deliberately fails closed. Research uncovered conflicts in the old 15-store denominator and in a proposed 25-store replacement, so the denominator is being rebuilt from current location-level evidence. A mathematically correct percentage built on an untrustworthy denominator is still an untrustworthy claim.
Form is literal. Flower, Buds, Big Buds, Smalls, Ground, Pre-Ground and Mixed Buds are not silently collapsed into one category.
Tax is never inferred. Unless a source says otherwise, tax treatment is not stated. OTD wording is preserved exactly and never reverse-calculated.
Promotional prices remain promotional. A directly purchasable single-unit sale can be published as the current price, but it is flagged with the regular price when known and kept distinct from a regular-price baseline. Multi-buy offers remain deal-only.
A change requires a match. Same store, product, form, weight and kind of price. Anything less is not a trend.
Different sources are not merged just because they fit. A price from one record and chemistry from another remain separate unless a defensible identifier bridges them.
Empty is better than invented. Missing fields are findings.
A retailer menu and a laboratory report answer different questions. Menu data describes the product being offered when WeedDar observed it. A COA describes a tested sample or batch.
WeedDar does not connect a COA to a retail product by strain name, similar THC, brand or package size alone. The preferred chain is current physical package → package QR/link → batch-specific COA → matching package lot/batch and COA sample/batch identifier.
Until that bridge exists, menu THC and terpene values remain menu observations rather than COA-confirmed chemistry.
COA workflow states: NOT CHECKED → QR AVAILABLE → COA CAPTURED → EXACT BATCH MATCH. Match confidence can also record PROBABLE SAME BATCH, STRAIN / PRODUCT MATCH ONLY, or UNMATCHED, but those weaker states never masquerade as exact batch proof.
Laboratory identity is literal too. A Rochester retailer does not imply a Rochester testing lab. WeedDar records the laboratory and permit only from the exact COA, then checks that named lab against the current OCM permitted-laboratory list.
Unmatched is better than falsely matched.
Not a menu, not a delivery service, not a store, and not a substitute for checking current inventory. It has no commercial relationship with any dispensary, brand or regulator, and no listing is paid for.
Prices move. Promotions expire. Packages change batches. Call the store and scan the package you actually buy.
